UNIPORT Brief History.
University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) is a public University established in the year 1975 as University College, Port Harcourt, but it obtained University status in 1977. Uniport is located along East/West Road Choba, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. In 2015, Times Higher Education (THE) ranked University of Port Harcourt first in Nigeria and sixth in Africa.
